Aerometals gains new IBF certification
Aerometals has received an FAA Supplemental Type Certification for its Airbus Helicopters H130 (EC130 T2) Inlet Barrier Filter (IBF) system, the company announced 6 August.
IBFs protect helicopter turbine engine inlets and internal components from ingestion damage.
Aerometals’ next generation design used computational fluid dynamics modelling software to reduce the total filter area through airflow optimisation.
The new Airbus H130 IBF is the latest addition to the company’s line of high technology turbine engine air filtration systems.
