WFEL confirms DoD bridging order
WFEL has received a £40 million order from the US DoD to supply the US Army Engineering Corps with its Dry Support Bridge (DSB) for tactical military operations.
The order, for an undisclosed number of DSBs, is the fourth phase of a framework agreement originally agreed in 2000, with production set to start this year with the first deliveries in 2013.
The US has ordered some 100 of the vehicle-launched bridges to date, WFEL said in a statement on 27 April, with a total value of some $450 million. The company cites itself as ‘one of the few prime contractors
