US looks to increase MRTT usage

With many its allies now deploying A330 aerial refuelling aircraft to the Middle East and its own next-generation KC-46A tanker still two years away, the US Air Force and US Navy have ‘ambitious’ plans to fully qualify all its aircraft to use the multi-role tanker transport (MRTT) next year.

Airbus Defence and Space (DS) officials disclosed that the US Air Force and US Navy had visited Madrid in September to discuss the plan to carry out full clearances.
