GPM-72 fire-fighting tank approved for operations

Ukroboronprom’s (UOP) GPM-72 fire-fighting tank has received approval for operation by the Ukrainian armed forces following successful completion of departmental testing, the company announced on 7 May.

Manufactured by the Lviv Armored Plant, the GPM-72 is capable of assisting in emergency rescue operations in warehouses, arsenals and storage facilities of explosive products.

The tank is equipped with a fire fighting reservoir with a capacity of 20t, a fire pump and a mount, allowing it to extinguish fires at distances of up to 100m. The vehicle has enhanced mobility and its 30mm armour provides protection to the crew from various types of ammunition and fire. 

The vehicle will enter service with the Ukraine Army.
