O’Gara Armoring has received a five- year IDIQ contract to produce armoured military components for the US Army, the company announced on 8 February.

Under the contract, awarded by the US Army Contracting Command, the company will produce armour hardware, turret systems and platform integration kits.

The turrets combine transparent and opaque armour to provide gunners with 360° protection while maximising visibility. Additionally, an integrated accessory package mitigates injuries from blasts, collisions and rough terrain.

The platform integration kits enable remote weapon station installation on a variety of platforms including the Joint Light Tactical Vehicle, Mine Resistant Ambush Protected vehicle, High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle and M1 main battle tank.

Production of the components will start immediately.
