Malaysian Army looks to recapitalise vehicle fleet

Malaysia’s MoD issued seven separate calls for tenders to Malaysian companies during the last week of August to supply various vehicle categories under the Army Mobility Phase II and III plans. These plans, of which there are currently three, are based on requirements rather than on time schedules.

Army Mobility Phase I consisted of infantry support vehicles, and it has been achieved via the AV8 Gempita 8x8 AFV programme. Phase II comprises personnel and equipment transports for army units, and Phase III for vehicles for logistics and rear-echelon support units.
