LAAD 2019: First KC-390 delivery on the horizon

Brazil’s flagship aviation project moves closer to yet another milestone as the first of Embraer’s KC-390 tanker/transport aircraft is set to be delivered in the first half of 2019 to the Brazilian Air Force (FAB).

The transport aircraft will be capable of cargo carrying operations but will be limited in other missions as it continues to go through military certification, according to Walter Pinto, programme director KC-390 at Embraer.

The project for the development of the KC-390 began in 2007. A total of 28 aircraft have been ordered by FAB.

Pinto was keen to highlight the ramping up of the production
