Arquus has received an order from the French Army for a second batch of Standard 2 VT4 non-armoured 4x4 vehicles, the company announced on 7 September.

Under this order, the company will supply 1,200 Standard 2 VT4 vehicles to the French Army. The army plans to acquire a total of 3,700 vehicles by 2025 to replace its existing P4 liaison vehicles.

With its payload of 900kg, the vehicle has been designed for command and liaison purposes during operations including anti-terrorism and training, and operations in stabilised conflict zones. The vehicle can transport five soldiers or four operators equipped with the FELIN fighting system.

Arquus has militarised the VT4 vehicle for the French Army and adapted it to meet requirements for payload, weapon integration, including FAMAS and HK416; and communications equipment.

The vehicle is equipped with a 160hp engine and large fuel tanks. The vehicle has been fitted with various security systems, as well as air conditioning, comfortable seating and sound-proof compartment.

Arquus will be delivering 500 vehicles by the end of 2018. Production of Standard 2 will begin in 2019.
