First Pegasus delivery and Japanese contract before year end

Boeing expects to deliver the first of its KC-46A PegasusKC-46A Pegasus multi-role tankers to the US Air Force (USAF) by the end of 2017 as part of the first low-rate initial production contract for 34 aircraft.

Aircraft are currently undergoing FAA supplemental type certification and amended type certification, a process that will provide most of the requirements for the USAF certification.

Six test aircraft are currently involved in the proving programmeand 16,000 flight hours and more than 1,200 contacts with receiving aircraft have taken place.
