D&S 2019: Unimog relaunches itself in Asia

19th November 2019 - 01:00 GMT | by Gordon Arthur in Bangkok

Asia-Pacific countries have traditionally been serious users of the Mercedes-Benz Unimog 4x4 truck, but the company has not enjoyed many recent sales successes in the region. However, the OEM is making a concerted effort to relaunch the Unimog regionally after a near 30-year absence.

Dieter Geyer, general manager of Mercedes-Benz Special Trucks, told Shephard that his company is particularly pursuing the Southeast Asian defence market, including countries such as Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand.
