Coast Guard partners with DLA for new cutter logistics

The US Coast Guard (USCG) and Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) is expanding its relationship based on the entry into service of the new USCG Offshore Patrol Cutters (OPC), being introduced as a replacement for the current Medium Endurance Cutters.

The changes were outlined by RADM Bruce Baffer, USCG Assistant Commandant for Engineering and Logistics (CG-4) and Chief Engineer, participating in the Senior Logisticians Roundtable at this week’s DoD Maintenance Symposium in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

In mid-September 2016, the USCG awarded the OPC detailed design contract award to Eastern Shipbuilding Group (Panama City. Florida).
