ASV unveils new unmanned C-Worker

UK-based unmanned surface vessel manufacturer ASV has unveiled the latest edition to its C-Worker product range at this year’s Oceanology International in London.

Called the C-Worker 5, the vessel is designed to support hydrographic survey work but could also have maritime security applications, according to the company.

At 1,900kg, the aluminium-hulled vessel can be launched and recovered from the deck of a survey ship.

The first C-Worker 5 was put to sea this month and the second vessel is the one being exhibited at the show. A third and fourth example are currently being finished at ASV’s manufacturing facility in
