Hensoldt introduces new flight data recorder
Hensoldt has introduced a new flight data recorder called SferiRec lightweight crash recorder (LCR) for helicopters, light aircraft and UAS, the company announced on 8 April.
The recorder combines advanced sensor technologies in a compact design to facilitate flight, video and audio data recording with reduced weight, dimensions and energy consumption.
SferiRec LCR comprises all the necessary sensors for recording data such as altitude and direction, engine temperature and speed as well as the pilots’ voices. The product combines recording functions for cockpit voice, flight data and crash protected memory, which until now have been performed by different devices. The maintenance data can be read to an easily accessible SD card.
The LCR’s sensors include an integrated microphone for ambient noise, a three-axis gyroscope, a three-axis accelerometer, a temperature sensor, a GPS receiver and an air pressure sensor.
