Marenco Swisshelicopter announced the signing of another order for the SKYe SH09 helicopter, revealing that Alpinlift Helikopter was joining Air Zermatt as launch customer of the new platform.

Established in 2005, the Switzerland-based company becomes part of the 'Launch Customers Team' and will receive one of the first deliveries of the helicopter.

Alpinlift intends to convert its fleet to SKYe SH09s in order to expand its sling load operations and confirm its position as a leader and reliable partner for private flights, cargo transport and business trips, according to Marenco.

Andreas Loewenstein, CEO of Marenco, was confident that the order was the first step to a 'valuable long term collaboration' with Alpinlift.

'This mutual engagement will support the market introduction of the SKYe SH09 as the best day-to-day workhorse for many operators in the world,' he said.

The single-engine light helicopter has a shrouded tail rotor and a maximum take-off weight of 2,650kg. In addition it is equipped with a Honeywell HTS-900-2 engine.

The SKYe SH09 had its first flight in 2014 and certification is expected over the next 12 months or so.
