USMC orders additional P-19R ARFF vehicles
Oshkosh‘s Defense has received an order worth over $16 million to provide an additional 23 P-19R Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF) vehicles to the US Marine Corps (USMC), the company announced on 27 July.
The order brings the total number of P-19Rs ordered by the corps to 164. The vehicles are scheduled for delivery through 2019.
The Oshkosh P-19R ARFF vehicles are equipped with the TAK-4 independent suspension system designed to support operations in off-road environments. The vehicle also features the Command Zone integrated control and diagnostics system. This fully-automated system provides access to vital vehicle information, and gives marines the ability to repair and troubleshoot vehicles, view real-time performance data and remotely access diagnostics information.
The P-19R is also equipped with advanced Striker firefighting systems from Oshkosh airport products.
