Venture Research has received a contract to supply mobile passive RF identification (pRFID) systems to the US Navy for use at four sites.

The contract was awarded through the National Center for Manufacturing Sciences (NCMS) as part of a project to evaluate the performance of an asset tracking solution that combines Venture Research's MultiTrak mobile pRFID reader with integrated geo-positioning capability, with a customisable application programming interface, to enable the US military to capture asset tracking information for large-scale material management operations at navy pier locations.

John Baker, president of Venture Research, said: ‘We are pleased to be working with NCMS and the US Navy to accurately track military and commercial assets through our unique solution that will improve inventory traceability and reduce wasted labour hours due to lost items.’
