Turkish A400M delivery inches closer
Airbus Military has announced that the engines on the first A400M airlifter for the Turkish Air Force were run simultaneously for the first time on 29 July. This marks the commencement of the final testing programme ahead of delivery to the Turkish forces.
The test occurred at the Airbus Military facility in Seville, Spain. The aircraft (MSN9) will be transferred to the Airbus Military delivery centre in September.
Turkey is to receive 10 A400M aircraft under its current order. This aircraft is scheduled for delivery before the end of 2013, and will be one of only four units to be delivered under the programme this year. Airbus Military has already delivered one aircraft to France, with another two scheduled for delivery to the French Air Force this year.
