The two frigates being built for the Philippine Navy by Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) will be fitted with Servowatch Systems' Integrated Platform Management System (IPMS) under a contract announced on 25 August.

The IPMS will be integrated into the frigates at HHI’s Ulsan shipyard in South Korea.

The new vessels are being built for the Philippine Navy's Future Frigate programme. They will be a variant of HHI’s HDF-3000 FFX-I multipurpose frigate, modified to suit requirements. According to HHI specifications, the design features a length of 114m, a beam of 14m and a hull draught of four metres. The platform has a standard displacement of approximately 3,000 tonnes and can accommodate engines in combined diesel or gas machinery arrangements.

Servowatch Systems will supply its IPMS control and monitoring package for the vessels’ propulsion plant, electric power plant, auxiliary/ancillary system. Battle damage control system and on-board training system are also included in scope of IPMS.
