Saab has received an order from Krauss-Maffei Wegmann (KMW) to supply its Mobile Camouflage System (MCS), the company announced on 19 December.

The Barracuda MCS will equip the German armed forces' new Leopard 2 A7V, which is developed and manufactured by KMW.

The camouflage systems will be supplied in woodland configuration and the deliveries will take place during 2018-2022.

Saab's MCS has been designed to decrease the enemy’s ability to detect and engage. It provides multispectral protection for vehicles while on-the-move as well as when in static position.

Görgen Johansson, head of Saab’s business area Dynamics, said: ‘We are fully certified by the customer as a supplier of advanced mobile camouflage solutions, which we are extremely proud of. With this order the customer will equip their tanks with a reliable, multispectral and combat-proven camouflage system.'
