Rheinmetall MAN Military Vehicles (RMMV) is supporting the programme to modernise part of the British military’s fleet of logistic vehicles with a new loading system.

Under a €43 million contract, RMMV will provide of 382 retrofit kits for the Enhanced Pallet Loading System on the British armed forces’ HX trucks.

The vehicles, operated by the Royal Logistics Corps, will be modified by retrofitting existing flatbed vehicles with a hook lift system in order to meet growing demand for container transport solutions.

RMMV will be responsible for supplying the conversion kit, which will be produced by the company’s plant in Vienna; while the conversion of the vehicles in the UK will be carried out by MAN Truck & Bus UK. The hook loading system will be supplied by HIAB.

Work is expected to be completed by the end of January 2021.
