Northrop to support E-8C Joint STARS fleet

Northrop Grumman has received a one-year, $330 million contract from the US Air Force to support the E-8C Joint Surveillance Target Attack Radar System (Joint STARS) aircraft fleet, the company announced on 19 November.

The integrated total systems support contract will run through to the end of October 2019.

Under the programme, Northrop Grumman will work with the US Air Force Life Cycle Management Center to provide total systems support for all facets of sustainment and support of the 16 Joint STARS aircraft at Robins Air Force Base and forward operating locations overseas. This will include programme management, engineering technical support, aircrew and maintenance training, supply chain and spares management, technical data and publications, programme depot maintenance and overall customer support.

The E-8C Joint STARS is an airborne battle management, C2, ISR platform that provides commanders with surveillance to support operations.
