DoD maintenance effort laid bare

The maintenance efforts and support costs for the US DoD have been laid bare accounting for 13% of expenditure.

Kristin French, Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense and the Acting Assistant Secretary of Defense for Logistics and Materiel Readiness said: ‘In fiscal year 2015, DoD maintenance accounted for $71.5 billion – or approximately 13% of the total DoD resource allocation of $565+ billion.'
