LAAD 2013: Alenia secures air force logistics contract

Alenia Aermacchi has won a €58m contract with the Brazilian Air Force to provide logistics support services to their fleet of A-1 light attack aircraft for three years.

Announcing the contract during the LAAD exhibition in Rio de Janeiro, Alenia stated that the contract includes on-site engineering support, logistics support services and supply of components and spare parts, servicing and overhauling.

Giuseppe Giordo, CEO of Alenia, told Shephard that a 15-strong team from the company would be permanently based at the Air Force’s Galeao base and consisting of personnel from engineering, manufacturing and supply chain management parts of Alenia.
