Iran unveils new tank transporter

The Iranian Army Ground Forces have developed a new tank transporter called ‘Sayyad’ or Hunter, it has emerged.

According to reports coming from Iranian state media, the new vehicle has 610 hp and the capacity to carry up to 70t, although some reports claimed up to 200t. Furthermore the driver cabin and machinery has been altered to allow for improved manoeuvring over adverse terrain and in poor weather.

It is believed a ceremony was held in Tehran on 21 July to announce the domestic production of Sayyad, with army commander Brigadier General Ahmad Reza Pourdastan stating that the vehicle
