First Y-20s delivered to PLAAF
The People’s Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF) received its first examples of the Y-20 transport aircraft built by the Xian Aircraft Industrial Corporation (XAC) on 16 June.
After being handed over to the PLAAF a day earlier by XAC, two aircraft (serial numbers 11051 and 11052) landed at Qionglai Air Base in Chengdu on 16 June. They will be operated by the 4th Transport Division, which contains three regiments that currently fly Y-8, Y-9 and Y-7 fixed-wing aircraft.
