DefExpo 2016: BEML’s Tatra trucks plough on

Czech company, Tatra has resumed its participation in India's military truck sector with the licenced production of its heavy vehicles by local company Bharat Earth Movers Limited (BEML).

At DefExpo 2016 Tatra is promoting its next-generation T815-7 Force model, which is easily distinguished by a modified cab.

BEML is developing new platforms with assistance from Tatra and one of their major projects underway is building a 16x18 wheeled chassis for the Indian military that will carry a missile. Given the dimensions of this long truck, Shephard surmises this could be a transporter-erector-launcher for the Agni-V intercontinental ballistic missile.
