The Canadian government has awarded DEW Engineering and Development a contract for additional truck-mounted shelters and a separate competitive contract to equipment these and shelters previously ordered.

As part of the Canadian Armed Forces’ Medium Support Vehicle System (MSVS) project, Navistar Defence received a C$274 million competitive contract in January 2009 to supply a fleet of 1,300 MilCOTS vehicles, related training and manuals.

All of the MilCOTS vehicles, which will be used for domestic military operations and training, have now been delivered.

DEW Engineering and Development received a C$130 million competitive contract in August 2009 to supply 895 baseline shelters.
