The Aboitiz Foundation has delivered the second batch of Delta Plus safety glasses to the armed forces of the Philippines (AFP), the Department of National Defense announced on 15 January.

Around 700 pieces were supplied in an initial batch to soldiers in Marawi City to protect frontline troops from eye injury resulting from IED explosions, debris and shrapnel.

A total of 3,000 safety eyewear pieces have now been delivered to the Philippine Army for use in combat operations.

Delfin N Lorenzana, Secretary of National Defense of the Philippines, said: ‘On behalf of our defence team, I thank  the Aboitiz Group  for  giving  protective eyewear for our frontline troops. It should be noted that this donation  demonstrates the strong cooperation and collaboration that has always existed between the private sector and  the government.'
