GE Aviation has received a $32.52 million contract from the US Defense Logistics Agency to overhaul F108 engines.

Work will be carried out in Ohio and Canada for completion by 10 September 2021, although the contract includes four one-year optional extensions.

F108 is the US military designation for the Franco-US CFM56 family of engines that are widely used in the commercial aviation sector.

Military platforms powered by the engine include Boeing P-8 Poseidon and Boeing 737 AEW&C aircraft.
