French Air Force plans for A400M future

The French procurement agency (DGA) used a ceremony to mark delivery of the first A400M transport aircraft to the French Air Force in Seville on 30 September to reveal more details of its plans for the aircraft as it ramps up to full operational capability in 2018.

The aircraft is an integral part of France’s 2014-2019 Military Planning Act (MPA) and will give the country a true strategic transport capability, replacing the in-service Transall transport aircraft and supplement an upgraded C-130 fleet.
