Engility has received a $20 million task order to provide maintenance and upgrades for the US Navy’s air traffic control (ATC) systems, the company announced on 29 November.

Under the task order, Engility will maintain the AN/SPN-43 radar and related ATC systems and develop upgrades to extend the lifetime of the systems.

The company will also install and integrate ATC system components for tests and analysis.

The task order has a one-year base period of performance and three option years, and covers ATC systems used on navy aircraft carriers and amphibious assault ships.

Lynn Dugle, CEO of Engility, said: ‘Enhancing the navy's ATC capabilities expands upon the long relationship with Naval Air Warfare Center, Aircraft Division (NAWCAD).

‘Our team can now partner with NAWCAD's engineering and integration department to perform critical work in rapid prototyping, design and development of ATC systems to equip our warfighters with the best possible tools.’
