Boeing secures improved Vigilare support contract

A new maintenance arrangement for Australia’s Vigilare air defence C2 system is aiming to address additional support requirements, the Australian DoD has announced.

Speaking to Shephard on 19 July, the DoD said: ‘The system-of-systems nature of the Vigilare system created additional engineering scope for Vigilare that the Vigilare Logistics Support Contract did not support.’

The initial Logistics Support Contract was signed between the DoD and Boeing Defence Australia in 2004 as part of the acquisition contract but a better support arrangement was needed to ensure Vigilare remained interoperable with Australian Defence Force assets.
