Airborne Systems North America has received a contract to supply the Enhanced Multi-Mission Parachute System (E-MMPS) to the US Marine Corps, the company announced on 5 January.

Under the contract, Airborne Systems will also provide training services, commercial manuals and all necessary support to ensure the successful fielding of the E-MMPS system.

The E-MMPS is equipped with the Hi-5 canopy and Edge harness container, as well as an attachable military working dog harness. It also features the company’s Storm drogue release system.

This new system will replace the MMPS currently in use.

The Hi-5 canopy uses a glide modulation system with 5.5:1 glide ratio and can transition to a 1:1 glide ratio with a control input.
