Waypoint Leasing has completed a lease transaction for three new AW169 helicopters to Emerald Pacific Airlines in Taiwan, the company announced on 23 July.

The new helicopters will be used for emergency medical services (EMS) operations and other missions. The transaction marks Waypoint’s first helicopter lease in Taiwan.

The AW169 is a 4.6/4.8t twin-turbine helicopter capable of performing in most demanding operating conditions. It features an advanced open-architecture avionics suite with fully digital glass cockpit and better external visibility for optimised situational awareness and minimised workload. The helicopter’s quickly reconfigurable cabin provides easy access for adaptability to a variety of missions.

James Lee, chairman of Emerald Pacific, said: ‘Waypoint proved themselves to be a strong partner in supporting our important government EMS operations. Their customer-focused dedication and operational knowledge were key elements to the efficient and flexible execution of this agreement.

'We are pleased to sign our first helicopter lease with Waypoint and look forward to working with them as we continue to expand our fleet in the future.’
