Finland orders more fort systems

Additional units of a modular fortification system for expeditionary forces have been purchased by the Finnish Defence Force (FDF) for about €1.3 million.

Balpro Protector 770 and 734 systems and Balpro Containers will be delivered by Kenno Tech from 2013-14 under the new order after the FDF exercised options to procure more systems.

The contract extension was announced by Kenno Tech on 21 November. Jouko Vallikari, business development director at Kenno Tech told Shephard that the numbers of products could not be disclosed. The company was awarded an initial contract for Balpro units in February 2012 that included option for each
