Cubic Global Tracking Solutions, the asset visibility solutions provider of Cubic Corporation, is tracking and monitoring containers for the US Department of Defense (DoD) with Generation II Satellite Enabled Tracking & Intrusion Detection (GEN II SETID) tags.

Cubic's Container Tracking & Monitoring Solution employs Cubic's Global Sentinel devices, which the DoD refers to as GEN II SETID tags. These devices provide situational awareness, actionable logistics intelligence, intrusion detection and theft deterrence along with enhanced force protection for the DoD.

"With Cubic's Container Tracking & Monitoring Solution, our goal is to allow the DoD to have complete visibility of assets arriving in theater, cut down on theft and ultimately increase security," stated Mary Ann Wagner, President of Cubic Global Tracking Solutions. "Cubic provides satellite tracking and intrusion detection in one device, along with sensors for heat, humidity, light, motion and power management -- and offers a battery life of up to three years. This is unparalleled in the marketplace."

Cubic's Container Tracking & Monitoring Solution allows the DoD to buy a service versus buying a tag. This service can be tailored to the customer's requirements to include installation, tracking/monitoring and device removal. This allows the DoD to buy the service on demand.

At the end of August, the first shipment of containers equipped with Cubic's solution arrived from both east coast and west coast DoD distribution centers into Afghanistan, without incident. "Our goal is to build upon the relationship with the DoD and the carriers in order to continue to increase the safety and security of containers going into theater," stated Wagner.

Cubic Global Tracking Solutions will be in Booth R at the National Defense Transportation Association Annual Conference in Phoenix, Arizona, from 12-15 September.
