Push strengthens for a second JLTV supplier

A move, launched in May, could lead to a second supplier for the US Marines Corps’ Joint Light Tactical Vehicle requirement. Meanwhile, Wisconsin elected representatives have been pushing for necessary funding to be included in the FY27 budget.
The US government’s FY27 National Defense Authorization Act and Defense Appropriations Act needs to include funding for a second source of Joint Light Tactical Vehicles (JLTV), according to elected US Congress members and a senator.
The call for funding was included in a 30 July letter sent to the Department of Defense (DoD) by a senator and elected members from Wisconsin, the home state of Oshkosh Defense which would be a likely second supplier to current contracted manufacturer AM General.
