Köhne highlighted Rheinmetall’s comprehensive range of ammunition, spanning calibres from infantry munitions to large aerial bombs, alongside a growing emphasis on advanced weapon systems.

Among the key exhibits on display was the L60 155mm artillery gun, currently under development to deliver extended-range fire support, as well as the MK35E powered medium-calibre autocannon, designed to combine low weight with high accuracy and effectiveness.

The discussion also explored the increasing importance of strike capabilities and counter-drone operations, with Rheinmetall showcasing its latest gliding bombs and warhead technologies.

A major focus is the newly established Rheinmetall Destinus Strike Systems joint venture, which aims to accelerate the development of next-generation guided missiles. The interview outlines plans for the Ruta Block III, building on the existing Ruta Block II to extend the missile’s range to approximately 2,000 km.

Köhne also discussed one of the division’s key competitive advantages: its vertically integrated manufacturing capability, which enables Rheinmetall to control almost the entire value chain across its extensive weapons and ammunition portfolio.

From hand grenades and tank ammunition to artillery shells and 2,000 lb aircraft bombs, the company presented the full breadth of its capabilities at Eurosatory 2026.

Recorded at Eurosatory 2026.
