Thailand selects trainer and light attack aircraft
According to Thai media, the Royal Thai Air Force (RTAF) has selected the Textron Aviation T-6C Texan II as its new trainer aircraft, while its stablemate the AT-6 Wolverine will also be obtained as a light attack platform.
The RTAF let slip this news when presentation slides were shown at the air force’s annual symposium in relation to its fleet development. The presentation listed a dozen each of the T-6C and the ‘A-6’ (presumed to be the AT-6). The two aircraft share 85% commonality.
It is unclear if a contract has been signed, or whether the deal will be pursued
