Singapore fields deployable medical container

The Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN) publicly debuted its Naval Rapidly Deployable Maritime Container (RDMC) at the SGDefence exhibition from 4-8 November. 

A joint project by the RSN, Defence Science & Technology Agency and local firm Syntech, the RDMC was designed to cater to the RSN’s need for a sea-deployable system up to hospital standards. 

The RSN initially trialled the Army RDMC but found it unsuitable for naval use. The naval version takes one person just ten minutes to fully deploy. The containers are also strengthened against stresses from forklifts, cranes and sea corrosion.
