New C-130J Super Hercules for Little Rock AFB
The US Air Force has received its newest C-130J Hercules, with the first of five aircraft designated for delivery to Little Rock Air Force Base (AFB) in 2013 ferried to the base from the Lockheed Martin facility in Marietta.
This is the first new C-130J to be delivered for Little Rock AFB since 2009. An additional four aircraft will be delivered before the end of 2013.
Little Rock AFB is the home of C-130 combat airlift in the US, with more than 90 C-130 E, H and J models. These new C-130Js will recapitalise legacy model Hercules aircraft scheduled for retirement. Little Rock AFB received its first C-130J in 2004.
