GOCO dies, but will live again

The UK government has finally abandoned proposals to privatise the MoD’s defence equipment procurement agency, DE&S.

The secretary of state for defence, Philip Hammond, told the House of Commons in a statement on 10 December that he would not continue with the competition to move the DE&S into a government-owned contractor-operated (GOCO) model.

‘I can confirm to the House today that I have decided not to continue the present competition,’ he said
