Bangladesh Navy Dornier aircraft head to Germany
The Bangladesh Navy’s two Dornier 228-212 special mission aircraft are set to undergo their 72-month inspection at the OEM’s production and assembly site in Germany.
The work is being carried out under a maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) contract signed at the Directorate General of Purchase in Dhaka, Bangladesh, in April.
The first aircraft has been ferried to Germany where it will undergo its MRO inspection. Bangladesh Navy maintenance technicians have travelled with the aircraft and will receive maintenance training from the OEM to expand their work experience.
The Bangladesh Navy deploys its Dornier 228-212 special mission aircraft to support surveillance and patrol flights for all aspects of maritime security, exclusive economic zone control, and search and rescue operations.
