Sensonor gyro module to stabilise SIMBAD RC
MBDA’s SIMBAD RC twin launcher system will benefit from Sensonor’s STIM210 gyro module’s increased stabilisation capabilities, to mitigate the effects of wave motion on vessels at sea.
STIM210 is a high precision 3-axis gyro module designed for pointing and stabilisation, flight control and guidance applications, such as the remote controlled variant of the SIMBAD twin launcher system, equipped with two ready-to-fire Mistral missiles.
STIM210 has been developed to close the performance gap in fibre optic gyro, and offers a powerful alternative to current market solutions with low size, weight and power consumption (SWaP), high reliability and efficient integration into various applications.
SIMBAD RC is in service with the French Navy and with several navies around the world. It acts as the main air defence system for fast patrol boats and auxiliary ships, or as a complementary air defence system for corvettes and frigates.
