BAE Systems awarded NGA GEOINT support contract
BAE Systems will support the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency's (NGA’s) collection, maintenance, and utilisation of geospatial intelligence (GEOINT) data and products under a $335 million contract announced on 31 July. The work will be performed as part of the NGA’s dynamic Map of the World project.
Map of the World provides US military leaders with enhanced situational awareness and mission planning resources through the production of on-the-ground intelligence pictures.
DeEtte Gray, president, intelligence and security, BAE Systems, said: ‘Our GEOINT experts will be exploring new sources of data, including commodity data, open source intelligence, and NGA archive data to deliver new products in line with the agency’s changing mission focus.’
The work on the project will be performed at BAE Systems’ facilities in Mt Laurel, New Jersey, and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
