PLA enhances artillery and evaluates new vehicles
The People’s Liberation Army (PLA) has been rolling out modern equipment and newer platforms to ground units. Indeed, the Chinese propaganda machine has been at pains to highlight that some of this new materiel is being deployed in Tibet, the site of confrontations between Chinese and Indian troops that have produced the deadliest clashes in decades.
For example, it was reported by Chinese broadcaster CCTV on 20 October that PHL-03 multiple rocket launchers (MRL) have been deployed in Tibet with updated guided rockets possessing a longer range and greater accuracy. The PHL-03 fires up to 12 standard 300mm unguided rockets
