UTC TASE 400 payload selected for US Navy ISR programme
UTC Aerospace Systems’ Cloud Cap Technology TASE 400 imaging payloads have been selected for a US Navy intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) programme by Integrated Surveillance and Defense (ISD).
UTC Aerospace will deliver the systems to ISD as part of a US Navy award contract in direct support of worldwide combat missions including round-the-clock imagery and other sensor capability in both sea-and land-based missions.
The TASE 400 will provide ISD with high-performance advanced daytime and night time imagery to support its multi-mission capability. The system has onboard image processing capable of target tracking, scene steering and electronic image stabilisation. The lower weight and minimal power requirements of the TASE 400 translate into increased useful load, endurance and mission performance.
Steve Pierce, vice president, operations, ISD, said: ‘The low SWaP (size, weight and power) payload and advanced optics of the Cloud Cap TASE 400 was a critical requirement in providing the US Navy with a turn-key ISR platform.’
