SRC receives AN/TPQ-49A radar contract
SRC has received a five-year indefinite IDIQ contract for the sustainment support and technology refresh of the US Marine Corps’ AN/TPQ-49 radar systems along with the procurement of new AN/TPQ-49A systems.
Under the contract, which has a ceiling of $93 million, SRC will perform system refresh kit installation, new system production, live fire testing, programme management, initial/sustainment spares provisioning, new equipment training, technical manual production and field service representative support.
The AN/TPQ-49 radar system provides early warning and location of rocket and mortar threats facing troops. The counterfire radar provides continuous 360° surveillance and 3D rocket, artillery and mortar location using a non-rotating, electronically steered antenna.
