Serco wins MRAP C4ISR support contract
Serco will provide C4ISR support services for the US military’s Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicles under a $9 million contract announced on 5 August. The contract, awarded by the US Navy's Space and Naval Warfare Command (SPAWAR) System Center Atlantic (SSC-LANT) division, has a one year term.
Under the contract, Serco will provide Field Support Representatives (FSRs) to install, integrate, repair and provide maintenance training on the C4I equipment and systems deployed within the MRAP family of vehicles. The company will ensure the vehicles are Full Mission Capable and maintain Operationally Ready status.
Vehicles covered by the agreement include those in use with the US Army, Air Force and Marines; as well as in Qatar, Kuwait, United Arab Emirates, and Afghanistan.
Dan Allen, chairman and CEO, Serco, said: ‘Serco is honoured to be awarded the opportunity to support this MRAP project. We have an excellent C4ISR division and are proud to apply our expertise and skills to help the US military with their defence technologies.’
