Long Short streams video 100km
The successful streaming of a video 100km between two tactical antennas was announced by General Dynamics Mission Systems on 10 May.
The test, which took place during the Marine Corps-sponsored Ship-to-Shore Manoeuvre, Exploration and Experimentation (S2ME2) Task Force Demonstration at Camp Pendleton, was completed between antenna stationed in San Clemente, southern California and Camp Pendleton, north of San Diego.
Dubbed the 'Long Short', the internally funded research and development project intended to demonstrate the viability of a 4G tactical network capable of providing broadband communications over the ocean in a satellite denied or degraded environment.
